Thoughts on renting boat to passengers/riders

Hey guys. I am considering renting my boat out to passengers or riders. I will always operate the boat, but the guest are welcome to navigate, board, lounge, or whatever they decide. I figure this would give a lot of people that don't have access to a boat an opportunity to board or just enjoy the lake. What are your thoughts on this? Stipulations, rules, or regulations I should consider?

Thanks in advance for your input, and I am looking forward to summer!

Man, thats a gamble. Are you willing to spend your time with possible bad company? Ive thought about offering wakeboarding and tubing for a few hours to a local Teen Challenge facility but limit the time to a specific window, like Thursdays 3:00 - 6:00. That way if anyone is "bad company" or mistreating my equipment I only have to deal with it for a couple of hours. Ive had friends bring a guest on my boat for the day that I wanted to tie up with the ski rope. Litterally. It was a real option.

I would start with a call to your insurance company . I bet you will need a commercial policy and possibly a special licence.
There is a big difference between taking some gas money and charging to come out.
