My wife and I are in the market for a new SUV and recently encountered an interesting situation. We are looking at either purchasing a Honda Pilot Touring (which we already have one) and an Acura MDX. We visited the local car dealers yesterday to test drive both and at the Acura dealer they showed us a 2011 MDX with the technology and entertainment package. That was the only "current version" they had with a navigation system. Acura is coming out with a complete redesign in 2014, so the 2010 - 2013 model years will be reduced in price here shortly.
So are the questions:
Are thee any issues buying a 2011 model year with 42 miles on it? We would have negotiating room, and the car already quoted within $5000 of the Pilot Touring is. We really feel that we can convince the dealer that it is a used 2011 car with low miles and get an even better deal.
And does anyone have an MDX that they really like? The pilot is pretty versatile and a pretty good deal for what you get...
