    Go pro help.

For you go pro users. What's the post way to post and share go pro videos. I have a great one!! We almost sunk a 13 RZ4 yesterday. She was loaded with people and I started filming the water line. Next thing we knew she was going down! Water was coming in te vent and Bilge pump quit working. Got it back to the lift and started searching what happened. I found a little peice of wood stuck in the impeller. Never did get the pump to work. Checked fuses and breakers. Still could not get power to the pump. I can say this without question ... Build quality is not as good as I would have thought.

Unless there is another secret, you need some software to compress it from bazillions of HD bytes to something more chewable by youtube or just uploading a small mpeg file. windows movie make, pinnacle, vegas,

I have the gopro software installed. Maybe I can chek what compression/share features it has or as Jr.AT

I think the gopro software (cineform) has a conversion for YT built in.

If you have a mac, you can upload it straight into iPhoto. From there you can post to facebook. Another way is to just open iMovie, find the clip within the iPhoto tab, create a project, and then you can post to youtube or vimeo.

I checked and there are editing/compression tools. Didn't see a YT button but I didn't look long.

+1 on the Mac. If you have it, use iMovie.

(ps - don't spend your life editing. Make some quick cuts and get it up. It's better to have more fun videos than a few "perfect" ones.)

I use YouTube when I want to share my large GoPro videos. Then you can share the link anywhere. You can also keep it unlisted or private that way.

Found out that on YouTube postings, if it is in HD, resolution must be no more than 1080/40fps. Had the same issue weeks ago when my video was in 1440 and when uploaded it came out in standard definition. Otherwise, you should be able to use the Cineform software by GoPro to edit then upload.

I did a lot of taping on my GoPro last night and I also do get concerned with possible loss of quality. When I edited this very short BF run I saved it at the best quality Mpeg4 and then uploaded it to youtube. Is there a better way to share?

I was just playing with settings and it does default to a lower quality but if you click on the Gear symbol below the video you can change it to a better resolution. The only problem it after I watch it in 1080P it reverts back to 480P...

If you add a "&hd=1" to the end of the link it will default to HD resolution- link below:

Very good information to have. Thanks! Here is an "out of shape" guy wakeboarding I edited up from two runs last night. See if the HD=1 works on this too.

A friendly reminder....like I tell my wife.....there's no "tape" any more.

I even heard Shep Smith say the other day....."roll the clip"

I guess the hard drives are rolling LOL.

Valid point. Should we use videoing, recording??

When there is no context...I try to say videograph (eeek).

When its obviously video, I say record.

Maybe we should ask someone under 10?
