    Tube Sticker Required!! WTH?

    This was posted over at TeamTalk, and its real...

    source = http://www.tristate-media.com/drr/ar...9bb2963f4.html

    ***********

    As of July 1, Illinois residents must have a $6 “Water Use Sticker” for anything they plan to just float upon - or, as referred to by the state, “all non-powered watercraft.” That includes inner tubes. The stickers do, however, replace the need for titles and registrations on kayaks and canoes.

    The new law also requires life jackets for users of canoes, kayaks and, yes, inner tubes. Oh, and you can be arrested for OWI - or drunk boating - in an inner tube.

    ************

    Crazy BS right there! Sorry Illinois guys, but keep it up there!
    If its not a competition ski boat, its always second best.

      That is really, really sad...sorry to hear that Illini folk. I'm not surprised, though. When we lived there, we had to buy a $2.40 sticker to put on each trash bag that couldn't be larger than 29 gal in order for the trash man to throw it in the truck.
      Peace..

        Money grab.

        I wonder if the sticker is water proof?

        I bet this is a "vendor bill" ...a bill pushed through by a lobbyist hired by a company that just happens to make (hopefully water proof) stickers.

          I agree with the alcohol test and the capacity rules . As for the stickers just another back door tax by IL. We moved out of IL 20 years ago because of property tax . Things are much worse now . Illinois highest taxes and highest murder rate way to go Dems.

            Happen to live in Ill and this is the first I have heard of this, LOL, what a joke. The states hurtin for certain, property taxes are out of control, the schools nickel and dime me to death and there are fees for everything. God forbid if you overpay on your taxes, all it gets you is an IOU. As bad as it is Chicago takes it to another level, gas as an example is $.25+ more a gallon.

                      Chicago looses jobs daily because of their anti business ways and high taxes . I worked trade shows in the city but most of them have moved to Vegas or Orlando . Its 20.00 to park at McCormick Place. And 3.00 per hour on the city streets. Single party rule no checks or balances .In ten years Chicago will be the next Detroit.

                        On a different note, they repealed this sticker. Too many called and complained.

                        oh snap what a pun, re-peeled the sticker! Hilarious.

                            They probably got calls from poor people that had no money to grab.
