Jeff, I was a little hesitant to put a fitting logo on it, so thank you for stepping up. Sorry MC owners, just kidding...........well........not really.
As pro SkySki Team Rider Chip Reihl said as we drove him back to the airport... "Friends don't let friends buy MasterCrafts." ... Eric knows who I'm talking about...

You know, I spent a few days on an X-Star about a month ago, and I must say that they do have some very nice qualities. Their towers are thicker and more sturdy than the FCT, and their board racks are outstanding. If you haven't checked out MasterCraft's latest boardracks, take a look. Not only do they have a great clamp-in design for the boards, but they swivel into the boat for ease of use and for fitting into small boathouses. I'm a die-hard Nautique fan, but I can recognize good things in the products of other companies too. FWIW, I hear that CC might have some new board racks out soon.
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.
If we can be of service to you, please contact us anytime!
I'll agree about the board racks, but just because their tower is thicker and sturdier, doesn't necessarily make it better or more favorable. It has to be much heavier and expensive. I rode on a MC 205V for years and that tower bangs like heck every time the rider takes a big fall. The FCT has always been solid and quiet. The MC tower on the new X Star is overkill.
Speaking of riding in other boats, I spent last Saturday in an 05 VLX. I got to say that the boat rode great and the interior was very roomy and very good quality BUT, the wake was extreamly wide for my liking and the boat at 18 to 22 mph rode way, way bow high even with the 1200 pounds of ballast tanks filled. It was a job for the driver to see over.
I've never owned a MC before, but many of my friends have and had nothing but problems with them, one after the other. As resent as 2003, they were trading them in for CC. YMMV! SNMike.. I mean BumpkinMike

I saw those new MC racks on a new X-Star last year and they are pretty cool. In fact, I think I saw them on a new X-9 at the MC dealer earlier this year. They are pretty cool, they make the Flight Clips look real crappy. If I had to invent something, I'd make electriconicaly clamping board racks, w/ a button on the key bad, kind of like filling and emptying the tanks, except closing and opening the board racks. I heard rumors of that in the making, I should have patented my idea....
