    Future of arial filming

Saw this on kick starter. Probably will not put DJI out of business, but it is very cool. Makes filming almost mindless. I wish I would have got in on the early bird deals for a package.

I could not tell, but assume you have to carry the phone with you for it to track you. Even then, not a huge deal with waterproof cases. There were a few other autonomous drones on there as well.

i can only think of one place this technology would be dangerous:

      public.

imagine having multiple drones in the air at the motocross track, at the lake, on the mountain, etc. they may be designed to autonomously track the subject at 70kmh, but i highly doubt they are capable of avoiding other elevated or airborne obstacles, especially those coming at them at 70kmh. fire up your lawsuits...

Yeah, for that drone you have to carry your phone on you. I found this kickstarter the other day that is the same idea but I think would work much better for wakeboarding and wakesurfing.

Yeah, I saw that one too. Both look very good. However, the second one just seems like it does not have the same level of finish the Hexo does. Maybe it is just personal preference, I don't know. I have to give those guys credit. Looking at their timeline, they moved very quickly from idea to finished product very quickly.

As with everything, there is some risk involved, but I would personally not be worried about my drone crashing into another one...if I had a drone that is.
