Alan-S, it depends. Your LF did not cause you injury, even if the edge hit your head and cracked it open, that is a normal injury. However, I think this is one of those things the design teams looked at it and said its a great board - and it is!!! - but if you don't have a mfg process that ensures safety for its customers then its up to the public to notify the mfgr. If the board had a larger fillet/radius just as the 2005 boards have then it would not have happened. Overall, since this post Hyperlite has been extremely appropriate and professionsal regrding this matter and there dedication to customer satisfaction is second to none. A mfgr that shows concern over there designs demonstrates responsibility and committment - those who ignore the response of their customers are in it for money and nothing else.

I agree there is a fine line on this matter - those who sue, those who notify and those who ignore. I chose to be the one to notify .

I don't think I agree much with the helmet issue. I appreciate my helmet more and more every wreck, but I find myself landing on the back side of the helmet so it doesn't really "grab" the water. I also motocross race, road race and snow ski - I think the helmet gives the "older" (me) boys a little more confidence that we can still go to work on Monday - smile. Overall, I think everyone should wear one, but having said that - I haven't heard of an injury that it would have prevented.
