How many of you snow ski or snow board? My sons and I snow board and love it but would rather be on the liquid form of H2O.

We Snow ski with Season's Passes here http://www.cannonmt.com/index.php
I don't have the passion for snow but it helps pass the time before golf season and more importantly water skiing.

RE: Snow Sports
Jeff, I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure your local place qualifies as a "mountain" lol, j/k... If you want the real 220 of ski resorts (at least here in the east) you gotta come up here to some of the big boys up in VT, Mt. Snow, Stratton, Okemo, and the famous KillingtonPDT_001
EDIT: Oh yeah, to answer the question... I've been skiing since 9, gotten pretty good at it. But I also think I'm falling for the urge to try snowboarding this season...I Nautique, therefore I am.

Snow Ski here. Wife and I are season ticket holders and do most of our vacations in snow
resorts. Tried snow boarding, hated it. Growing up, we only water skied. Started snow skiing
in my early 20s. Now, 20 years later I actually prefer snow skiing over water skiing or
wakeboarding, but love the boats, and probably prefer boating over either.

RE: Snow Sports
Wife and I snowski and the boys snowboard. We get to upper Michigan a couple of times a year - typically Boyne Highlands, Boyne Mountain, and Nub's Nob. We have on 2 occassions gone out west to Vail and Breckenridge. I would like to get to Whistler, Jackson Hole, and Tahoe before the boys get out of school. This year we're staying close - MI.
Went to Vail with SNwanabe - he's a great skier. I can not keep up with him. We had a blast though - when he wasn't waiting or me.
This is how it goes: the good skier zips down the hill and waits for you at the end of the run - resting. As soon as you(I in this case) get down to the meeting point, the good skier takes off for another run - fully rested. You (I) am dog tired due to altitude or bad form, but need to try to keep up. After a day of this, you just go hide somewhere on the Mountain - where you can ski at your own pace.
BTW - those 5 mile radios work well in Michigan, but are not much good at a place like Vail. It's a good place to be if you are married - Ha, Ha.

RE: Snow Sports
I spent a few years in Vail snowboarding. That was my in when I started the whole wakeboarding thing. They really compliment each other well and doing both has increased my overall stoke level tremendously. Best thing is I really only have a month or two of down time a year.
Nearest good lake is 1.5 hrs away, nearest good ski hill is 45 minutes. Mammoth Mtn is 3.5 hrs, about the same as heading to lake Nacimiento.

RE: Snow Sports
I have snow skied all my life, but once I tried snowboarding about 5 years ago my skis haven't been used since. And the first time I rode in snow deep enough to float a snowboard, skiing was definitely over!
I absolutely love wakeboarding and being out on the boat, but being out on the mountain holds just as great a draw to me. The summers beat me up quite a bit and late summer I start looking forward to leaves, snow and switching gears for winter. Of course, come springtime I start chomping at the bit to get the boat out and hit the water!!'08 Super Air Nautique 210

I started skiing at age 3 1/2......spent many family vacations skiing all over CO and Utah...spent a month or two living in Crested Butte, CO and Sun Valley, ID during college years....graduated college(5 year plan!) and moved to Jackson Hole,WY two days later....spent the next seven years as a ski instructor during the winter (and whitewater guide during the summers).... learned to snowboard as a diversion when skiing became boring....finally made my way into telemark skiing due to touring capabilities for the backcountry and overall superior comfort of the gear.....moved back to 'civilization' at age 30 to complete my MBA (finally done!) at which time I bought an old POS '82 2001 and restored it for wakeboarding..... and now I'm interviewing for jobs back in the rockies or sierras (hopefully near some glassy lakes).....looking forward to the next chapter......maybe I'll start making enough cash to get a 'new' CC.Life is Good.

is first class, though I haven't been there in about 10 years. I
hear they've really developed the town over the last few years.
