That doesn't seem right to me. We've had a lift for 10 years and have always floated it on the lift . It could be ok but never had that issue

Nice cover. Does it work well? What kind is it and where did you get it?

The cover works well but it's big so I made a roller that mounts to the front of the lift so I could just roll on and off the boat. I like the way it works and will post pictures when I get a chance.

I quoted Sowlong and they had some great options but I went with Dallas Canvas. They were a couple of hundred less expensive and Buxton carries their line and had it in stock. If I had any issues with it, I new I could get it fixed locally without any issues. I can leave the factor bimini up and cover the boat.

Thanks. Would be very interested in seeing how you constructed a roller when you have a chance to post the pics

1 1/2 Angle iron, 4" PVC and a few extra parts. I start at the back and pull the sides up on top of the bimini and go to the front and turn the handle and it rolls up. The rope tied to the PVC and to the front of the cover keeps it from slipping. I secure it with a strap when it's rolled up.

Now that is genius....thanks. We are finishing constructing a boathouse on Lake Palestine. Definitely adding that.

I drilled holes in the PVC caps and put a washer on the inside and a lock washer and bolt on the outside. So it's just a compression fitting. If I were to change anything it would be to weld the inside washer to the bolt and put a couple of screws through the washer into the PVC cap.
