Wow…Jeff and I are away from the computer for a day and this place gets set on fire… We have deleted the thread that sparked all of this…
1. This is a FAMILY site…women making out with each other and peeing on a beach do not fall within that that category.
2. There is a huge difference from posting pictures of girls in bikinis to posting some of the content that appeared in the deleted thread. The line was crossed.
3. If you want to post pictures of women in bikinis, they need to be posted in the “Off Topic” category and kept with in reason.

Lee,
I think you knew the answer to your poll before you posted it. Guys like photos of girls in swimsuits. Witness the SI swimsuit issue and others. No great secret there.
No secret either that some folks like photos of porn, puking, urinating, and whatever else. Witness the ease with which you can find it on the internet.
None of that seems relevant to me, however. The guys that run this site, Jeff and Luke, don't put many restriction on it. All they ask is that you keep it clean, respectful, and don't use foul language. Seems only fair to me to honor their wishes.
I enjoy the photos of the boats, and also the photos of owners and their friends enjoying the boats and water sports - whether they be male or female, swimsuit or wetsuit, soft drink or a beer. I'm sure most others feel the same. If we just keep it to the parameters Jeff and Luke have set, I'm sure we'll all enjoy sharing and viewing great photos of our friends and family having a great time out on the water. Thread jack, maybe... Virginia and Iowa are so-called Red States. Is Planet Nautique a Red State site? That might be a more fitting poll for Jeff and Luke.
First off, I contend that the sum of the previous State of the Union political thread should be a complete embarrasment to anyone on this site who participated and has a two year associates degree from an unacredited community college. Distinguished PN lunkheads (you know who you are) and the generally uneducated get a pass here.
The picture of the woman peeing was out of line, for sure, if that's what was actually going on. If the chick was just hammered, whatever. When I last saw that thread today, it struck me as just a bunch to dudes who had their "man on" and were having a good time. While some were threatening truly NWS stuff, I'm sure it was just bravado. To make a big deal about those two chicks kissing amounts to, IMO, just plain ninnyness by whoever pulled the ripcord. Maybe that thread got more wild later in the day...
It would be interesting to see whether we'd get a locked and removed thread if some member dared to post a picture of two lesbian friends kissing, while having a good time out on the water...AND drinking beer...AND wearing bikinis? Maybe that's what was going on in that earlier picture. Hmmm... Some of the other action shots sure suggested it. Would those pictures have caused such a ruckus if it were guy-on-girl/husband-on-wife...tounge and all? I don't think so; locked maybe. God forbid anyone posting a picture of two male friends kissing while having a good time out on the water...AND drinking beer...AND wearing bikinis.
What is appropriate for family viewing is one thing, but I'm curious if anyone is trying here to promote/impose anyone's particular "Family Values." I think that would be tantamount to socio-selfrightous-political-big-brother crap, if that's a word I can use on PN. Heck, there are pre-teen boys and girls kissing right now on the Disney Channel. Better turn off the T.V., CC sycophants, or move to Idaho and join a militia and send e-mail to your government about the threat of illegal immigration.

I'll agree with you there MHayes. A post from Rhode almost always takes me back to some spirited conversation from my days at Berkeley :grin: BKH2001 Super Air

I think a few people need to take another look at the forum rules. This is what you agreed to when you signed up.
http://www.planetnautique.com/Correc...rAgreement.htm
From the User Agreement:
There will be no nudity or content that is sexual in nature allowed. We realize that bikinis & boats go together, but there is a line that can be crossed so please use common sense in this matter. We want this to remain a family-friendly site that is safe for viewers of all ages. This applies not only to images posted in threads & the galleries, but to avatars as well. When you post an image or upload an avatar, ask yourself if it's something that's appropriate for a child to view.
This one is for you. :grin:
In addition, if any member becomes a disruptive influence to the site, the moderator may bypass the above 3 actions & ban that member. No one person is bigger than the community.2000 Air Nautique Powered by FORD <-- Former Boat

Rhode, the real question to me seems to be;
Why it is OK with you for ultra Liberal views to be posted without question but you think anyone with a Conservative view is described as follows;
“two year associates degree from an unacredited community college. Distinguished PN lunkheads (you know who you are) and the generally uneducated get a pass here.”
If you don’t like the way this site is run go post on Wake World.
