most importantly, does anybody have any negative experiences after the surgury, besides dryeye and night glare?

Dry Eye and nightglare should go away with time...my doctor said about 6 months. I haven't known anyone that has had any negative experiences (although my doctor said that it has happened). Most common negative experience (1/200 chance according to my doctor)...the flap doesn't heal correctly and has to be fixed...or...the vision doesn't come all the way back to 20/20 and has to be fixed.Current: 2017 G23

Just chiming in hear.. had PRK done in Jan (so I'd have plenty of time to heal before skiing season)... I've been 20/450 since the 4th grade. I can't believe I waited this long and can't wait to be able to see the boat this year skiing! Also, had the Monovision and Custom options.. After almost 2 months, my eyes are reaching near normal. sure takes patience to wait on the healing! Doc says I see 20/20, just have an astigmatism due to the healing still taking place! I went to TLC in Indy! Terrific Organization! Also, PRK is preferred by the FAA and the AirForce both over traditional LASIK (i.e. not cutting and peeling of the cornea).. it does take a bit longer to heal, but many people don't have thick enough corneas to qualify for the LASIK.. I've heard it's the better and more acurate procedure, even though both are very successful and worthwhile! GOOD LUCK, Don't Put it Off if you can afford it!2005 SV211

I had custom lasik done about 18 months ago. I was 20/10 the following morning. I know before, I was a -5.75 in each eye. I never had any glare or dry eyes. The next morning I was good as new. Possibly the best money I've ever spent. Even better than the Nautique!???! I'm only 26, so maybe that's why I didn't have any trouble. Mine was $2000 an eye for the custom. Definitley worth it.
