Its about time for some new shoes on the old Excursion before the summer road trips start. Only 3 options on tire size that I can find (325/60/20) BFG which Ive had and been pretty happy with, Toyo AT2 that Ive not had but have had the HT on a dually and loved, and the Nitto which is whats on it now and Im not all that impressed with as far as ride and road noise. Just wondering what you all have tried and been happy with.

For BFG I assume you're talking the AT KO's. I've had 2 sets on an old Jeep Cherokee and absolutely loved them. I'm convinced there isn't much better out there. However with a family and more expenses these days I didn't spring for them on my Toyota. Just a little high on price so I went to Cooper ATP Discoverers which I can say have treated me well thus far.

If you can find a Cooper dealer. The Cooper AT series is a great great tire.
I hated the set of Nitto Terra Grapplers I had put on my Tahoe. Wasn't going to go Nitto again, but I had a blowout and the shop local at the time only had the Nitto Crossteks in stock not the Cooper. I called my tire guy back home and he was fine recommending the Nitto Crossteks for my Expedition as I am now more concerned about noise and ride comfort than looks. I am really really happy with the look, ride comfort and performance in the snow . Have about 25k on them. While not necessarily a considered a true AT with a rugged tread pattern or look, they are IMO one of the better , smoother tires with a more rugged look. It's not a true HT and not a true AT.Last edited by swatguy; 06-21-2016, 12:23 PM.

I just put these on my F-250 and love them, Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar. They don't have them in your size but you might want to look at Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac but they are pricey.2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop
2010 SANTE 230 343 (280hrs)
pre 2010 - various open bow boats and jet skis
