    Private Lake anyone?

Sorry, I am trying to lighten the mood here. There are a lot of people with little to no respect on the water. It's not their fault, they just don't know any better and honestly there is not much we can do about it. It not supporting the idiots, just saying we cant fix stupid.

Let me say this then.... Alcohol and boats don't mix well especially a wake boat with 6 million tons of water . Can we all agree on that ?

There are actions you can take though Joe.

For example, there was a jet ski chasing a flock of geese around on my lake a few weeks ago. The person was clearly inexperienced and driving erratically. After about 2 minutes, I had enough. I hopped on my superjet, went over to them and calmly asked them if they lived on the lake. When they said yes, I stated they should know then that it is against federal/state/local law to harass wildlife and what they were doing was not only foolish but dangerous. It turned out to be a 50 something lady and a 7 year old by the way. I also stated that it was setting a horrible example for the child and that if I ever see them or anyone they know doing it again, I will report the MC numbers (which I had already written down) to the local sheriff.

Guess what? Hasn't happened since. You can fix some stupid. You just have to go about it the right way.

How does it "kill your shoreline"? I'm really curious about that one. And it knocks a SUP rider off their board? Come on now. Seriously? Sorry the SUP guy doesn't want to get wet. I guess thats the chance you take riding a board in water.

Sounds like everyone just needs to get over it and accept that we all share the water. You're never going to eliminate all the activities you don't like so suck it up and be happy you can enjoy the water at all.
I'll tell you how it kills my shoreline. The 3 ft rollers crashing my beach, on what is otherwise a very calm lake, erodes so much shoreline away, I have lost all 10 yards of sand I put down 1 year ago. Sure, I could put in a seawall, but why should I have to shell out big bucks and get rid of my kids favorite part of the house just because some people have no respect? Surfers complaining about tubers is about as hypocritical as it gets. Yes, I agree tubers can be annoying, but, in my opinion, surfing is much more so. Constantly starting and stopping, power turning to get rider, and in my situation, constantly riding right past the spot where everyone anchors and swims.

I'm not one to call for banning anything wake related on the water...I think it's a slippery slope, but surfing has sure made it cross my mind a few times.

You can have a small seawall and beach. How do I know? I have one.

Skiers hate surfers, surfers hate toobers, everyone hates bass fisherman, fisherman hate wakeboats, pontoons hate being old, blah blah blah

I never said don't respect others, I said stop whining about it because it doesn't matter.

How wide is your beach and where did you dump the sand? In the water? I'd love to see pics.

If it is anything like my shoreline it does not matter where you put it, if the wave action reaches the sand it washes away. A few days of constant waves can do what mother nature usually takes years to accomplish. Seawalls are not the answer and are even banned on some lakes as they should be, they reverberate the wave action which ultimately can do more harm then good.

The reason I asked is because I used to be a member at a private ski lake. Like you, I thought it would be a good idea to dump some sand and create a beach. All it took was a couple months and all of the sand that was anywhere near the water's edge was gone. All washed to the bottom of the lake. Again, this was a ski lake. My point is, the disappearance of sand may have more to do with the steepness of the shore.

Well I have another crazy driver story ...

Surfing yesterday as hardly nobody was on lake and a guy with a small child and wife in a bayliner decides to pass me very close in starboard side. I waved at him to move over further away and he decides to floor it instead. Needless to say that was a bad idea as we surf in starboard side and he hit a roller at darn near full speed and I saw his prop from the front of the boat . I truly thought it was going to flip over backwards. The worst part of this was I saw the little boys waist above the windshield when he hit it. I waved my surfer off and slowed to a stop and grabbed her to check on him. As I approached I could hear his wife yelling at the driver so loud It was echoing in the mountains . I asked if he was ok and the wife said yes and thank you. She then said "my husband needs boating lessons" I laughed and said "rule number 1 never pass closely to surfing boat" we all laughed and I drive away shaking my head . It was insane to see a boat over 20 feet long that high in the air
