Just wanted to get a general feel for what everone else prefers to do when they are out on the boat. I wakeboard, and I think in the three or so years we've had our boat we have had only one skier.
But this isn't about me.

we ski in the river here but we're trying some wakeboards to keep up with the young guns! We also like towing triple inflatables in what we call "biscuit wars", last one on rules!
I mostly wakeboard, but I slalom probably every 10th time I make it to the lake. I recently bought a wakeskate so that'll probably take a little more of my time now.
When my uncle or cousin is with me, or I with them, I will also get on what you Zach referred to as the Air Chair.
Zach, the Air Chair is the first generation of Sky Ski. I think the difference in them is that the air chair was upgraded to a seat with a shock absorber in it... I think.

I think it was that two guys who originally had one company, dunno the original name, split up into Air Chair and SkySki. Mike Murphy obvioulsy went w/ SkySki (he's on the bottom of every ski), and i dunno who went with Air Chair (which should say something about the popluarlity of the product). Ironically, when I say I skyski, EVERYONE goes "oh, the air chair?" I'd say at least 90% of all skyski, all the pros do, except for one, who happens to be the best, Geno Yauchler (sp?).. :???: The air chair is very basic, no shock tower, uncomfortable belt , IMHO, harder landings, and most importantly, different shaped wings and foils--that is where the heart of the ski is at. I guess its all personal preference, and once most Air Chair-ers try the SkySky, they immediatly convert--we did.. Sorry for the long and confusing history, I wish I knew it better...
Oh, by the way... today was the day I rode away my first invert holding on to the rope, oppose to a dismount... I'm very, very happy. Even though the engine is messed b/c it sucked stuff up from a shallow launch and needs service, I'm still, very, very happy... 8-) vid to come...

Good point, but have you ever gone out with the intention of only surfing? I still view surfing as more of a thing to do when everyone is done, or when the water isn't to great, not something that I would get the boat ready for just to do.

and u have the old LF boat? when did u get that? cause i rode off of it awhile back. was there anything wrong with it when u got it? we beat the living piss out of it lol
Yeah, the all grey one. We got it in 2003 if I remember right, right as Liquid was having bankruptcy troubles. It wasn't too bad when we got it, some gelcoat scratches, ripped decals, and various wear and tear from being a team boat. We completely overhauled it though, powdercoated the tower and windshield frame the same (or close to it) shade of grey as the hull, we're in the process of putting grey vinyl down on the seat bottoms, upgraded the stereo and boardracks, stripped all the stickers off of it except for the air board decals in the back, powdercoated the vents in back black, upgraded the flush system, added freshwater cooling, and thanks to a broken exaust flap and insurance, we had to put a new GT-40 in it also. When I get back from college next week my friend and I are going to give it a complete overhaul again, buff the hull, get new decals, some custom painted graphics, new traction on the gunnels, and probably upgrade the head unit since it finally died. Its definitely not the same boat as it was back then. Its a great boat, a complete wakeboarding workhorse.
But speaking of beating the piss out of it, through the buying process we became friends with Jason Mendez, the Liquid Force rep, and we see him at all the events in San Diego. He will introduce us to riders as the ones who bought the grey boat, and it seems every time he does, the person always asks something along the lines of "Oh, is that the one you (mendez) crashed into the dock/pier/beach?"
