I don't think there's any reasonable comparison here. Searay doesn't make towboats. Nautique doesn't make runabouts and ocean boats.

Actually they dipped their toes in the wakesurf boat market last year
Sea Ray boats and yachts - research the Sea Ray 2017 SLX-W 230. Electronic brochures, features & options.

OK, I stand corrected. I wonder how well it sold?

My point was not at all to compare the 2, guess I should have been clearer. I meant....why would I own an I/O when I can own a tow boat.....which offers so many more ways to have fun on water, more seating and comfort, etc,etc and on and on. I owned a few I/O's....before I really knew about these boats (or could afford one). Once I tried surfing tho, I was hooked and have not looked back.

I looked at the Sea Ray reverse drive "surf boat" at the last boat show (as well as a few of the other brands that have recently come out)....I have actually surfed behind the Four Winns several times. For a casual surfer who may only do it occasional, it may be ok but its certainly not great. The last time I went on the Four Winns, I took 500lbs of my lead with me and it made the wave much better, but still puny in comparison to what we are used too. Really shocks me that the pricing is very similar since IMO, they offer MUCH less in all departments.
