    BKH update

    Just got news from Brian...

Things took a little turn for the worse last week.

Got pretty sick on Thursday. Chills, Fever, Sweats, etc.

Went to the Doctor's office on Friday, and I was
back in surgery by 4:00. Seems I developed a staff infection in the
wound. They had to open me up all the way again to clean up the
wound, and to make sure the infection was not in the bone or nerves.

Now back at home, I'm not allowed to drive, etc.

Overall I feel pretty good, but just a lousy setback.

Dr. told me nothing I could do. Just bad luck.

I called him and he sounded surprisingly well considering what he is going through. He is still hoping to make the trip to Green Lake if he can fly.

    He is checking e-mail.

Thanks guys for your thoughts and support. I won't lie to you, this last setback wasn't good. Perhaps the most unpleasant experience of my life. But that's ok, I'll get through it. We always do.

Most important point about this thread is that Mikeski is a great guy and a very good friend. For those of you who live in Northern California, I'd go out of my way to meet him. You'll be very lucky to add Mike to your list of friends. BKH

Just got back from the doctors and the intravenous antibiotics are working. The Doctor has even cleared me to attend the Green Lake event this weekend (won't let me drive or go back to work yet, but hey, a man's got to have his priorities). Looking forward to meeting all of you attending the event this weekend. BKH

Brian, I'm thankful to God you're feeling better. I' was out of the loop on your ailment or I would've responded sooner. Sorry my friend.

Best wishes for a full and fast recovery. The best to you and your family!!!! Mike

Today was my first day back in the boat. Might not sound like a big deal, but considering that 8 weeks ago the doctors told me I was looking at paralysis, it's a pretty big moral victory for me. Probably won't make it behind the boat this year, but it felt great to be back on the water.

Thank you again to so many of you for your posts and emails, thoughts and prayers, wishing my wife and I the best. My Best Regards, BKH.

Looking good! Looks like that scar is also healing pretty well too. Just keep it covered or lathered in sunblock. Glad you had a good day.
