Well I guess after the surf fad is gone you will still have a nice pontoon boat.

I guess I'm in the minority but I think it looks ugly and the surf wave looks terrible.

I would not disagree. I think over time this floating barge will be a "Home Run" because of the price point and you can load it up with tons of folks with a variety of water sport capabilities. If it is a success, I believe Nautique will purchase Montara and add it to their fleet of boats. Definately the next generation of Surf Boat has arrived.

For sure, no doubt. Just as the GS series boat does "It All" so-so, the same will happen to the Montara Surf Pontoon after the Surf Craze fads into the sunset over time.

I wonder if I can BBQ on that thing while surfing? We wouldn’t lose any surf time If we do not need to stop for lunch...

An impeller change looks like a giant pain in the ***:

It's interesting...that's for sure. Looks to have lots of deck and seating space and having the engine mounted below the deck really opens up the boat. Finish looks decent with the Seadeck To my eyes, looks a lot better with bimini top up than with it down....gives the boat some better lines. Assuming that it surfs half OK, I could see these being a thing. Solves the problem for grandma and grandpa who aren't ready to buy a full surfboat and give up their sunset cruises but still want to have fun with the kids. Will be curious to see how this concept evolves....

I agree could be a homerun after some squeaking and modifications. I'm sure Montara is hoping if the boat is moderately successful, Nautique, Mastercraft or Malibu may purchase the line and take it to the next level.

How is this thing a "Pontoon" boat? A deck boat maybe, but far off of a pontoon. I don't see any toons!!!

These things are a mess... I was behind the Gen1 (2020) and the wave was super small, boat wasn't all that dialed in. They were $130k... and now they were selling that model for $85k. I'd be all kinds of pissed off if I had ended up with one.

The new Gen 2 is way more refined, better layout, has a rear thruster, etc and the wave is significantly bigger... BUT now its $150k
                            Notgunna.

                            Heres the new wave:
