They post a picture on a site they have never been to before, someone asks them to post here, they have not said who asked them to post here, the photo is questioned, and then they suddenly have a bunch of eye witnesses and character witnesses register to confirm, but we still don't know who asked them to post it here in the firts place.

exactly what I was getting at. 2 witnesses plus the rider register at a small nautique webite to discuss this tube. still no mention of what kind of boat eh?

Well I think we all know it's not a Nautique...

I did a quick search at MBO and TMC and Mr. BanksPhotos didn't post his picture over there. That leaves me with the question, why here?

As the original poster I hope this will be my last entry to this discussion. First off, thank you to those that have enjoyed my picture and posted decent replies. However, I have spent way too much time defending this photo, now I need to defend my reason for positing here and reveal the person who referred me to this site. Does this all really matter? I shared this picture with you because there are active discussions regarding the kite tube in this Off Topic forum and I thought you might like my contribution. Some of you are acting like I have organized some sort of conspiracy to support a hoaxed photo. If the photo were fake, do you think I would still be here? If the photo were fake, do you think I would watermark it with my personal web site? What would I have to gain with all this? After getting beat up regarding the photos authenticity I asked Gary, the rider, to stop by and lend some support. Any additional supporters were not asked by me. Regarding the friend who asked me to post here, I sent the photo to an employee I know at one of the major boating magazines. He mentioned this and a few other forums to share the image.

This topic has pretty much died in the other forums; maybe it’s time for it to die here too.

The first link listed is to a photography site that I am quite active in. It's ironic that this is the only discussion that did not have any questions as to the photos validity.

I'm a natural pessimist I suppose, but if it truly your picture then you have a dandy. Skirting around many simple questions didn't help your cause either.

OK Hollywood, Josh made a statement about the only discusion where the validity of the picture was not questioned was the one where he was known. Then you come the with more threads questiooning the validity of it. Are you trying to back up Josh's statement or what here?

You're never going to convince either of these two guys to admit to anything, nor should you try. I think it's safe to say that most of us agree that the tube is dangerous and your pic may have had a part in coming to that conclusion for some. Either way, you have an unbelievable picture (pun intended). Thanks for posting on PN.

banks dude, i completely believe u. i've seen a girl tossed from about that same height. and ur story totally checks out. one second ur flyin high on the tube, the next second, ur flyin high without the tube. its crazy, but completely beleivable in my opinion

The AP (Associated Press) requested a copy of the original, unwatermarked photo. The AP reviewed the photo and distributed it worldwide.

What about those whose "life mission" is to censor others on public forums who like to bicker and use distorted logic?

It's an imperfect world and an imperfect board...and wether you agree with them or not, OTW and HW are simply making their veiws known...which I still think is allowed here...even if they employ "distorted logic".

I think the pic is bogus...despite the authors attempt to verify it's authenticity (watermarks, AP request, testimonials, etc.)...any reasonable person posting such a fantastic picture should anticipate a healthy dose of skepticism from at least a few in the audience...especially on their first post...count me as one of them...it's not personal...it's just the natural result (if it is indeed real) of poor picture quality and having a sensitive guage to trollers.
