    Uninsured Boater Coverage Explained

We wanted to take the time to explain uninsured boater coverage and how it will protect you. It is an additional backstop to protect you in the event that you are injured by a fellow boater who does not have liability insurance. A covered uninsured boater loss will enable your policy to pay for damages you are legally entitled to recover from an uninsured boater because of injuries you sustain. Coverage may be available for bodily injury while in, upon, boarding, leaving, or involved in an accident with the uninsured boat. Coverage may not be provided if the claim is settled without your insurance company’s consent, if the uninsured boat belongs to a government agency or if the operator used the uninsured boat without permission. Please consult your policy to review all applicable terms and conditions. Your policy limit for uninsured boater coverage should be outlined on the Declarations Page of your policy and in the policy itself.
