yeah i've heard of a guy who was footing in some river, not sure where & he caught a board with a couple nails sticking out & it nearly ripped his heel off... I'm glad my Lake's normally free of floating debris, cuz the falls hurt bad enough as is is, the last thing i need to worry about is catching my foot on some stray floatie...

Barefooting
I used to barefoot behind my Galaxie (I/O with 140 HP). I would sit on a “Skuffer Launch” (a thick wakeboard) and once I got up to speed I would stand up and shove the board away. I could always stay up as long as I wanted if I stayed right behind the boat (to the side of the wash) but I had problems going across the wake. Eight times out of ten I would catch my trailing foot on the wake as I headed out. I had a friend that had a flat bottom junk ski with a ripped boot that he would step out of to foot. I tried it that way a few times, but the falls were bad. I only succeeded one time out of four tries, Four tries was all that I wanted. We did not know what we were doing. We thought that the boat had to be going full speed. The falls where you tumbled were bad and I soon learned when dropping off the handle to put my hands together tight in front of me. If you go in feet first with your arms loose by your side it feels like the water is going to rip your arms off.
