    Boat Lift Suggestions

What boat lift type would you recommend? Should I construct it myself or buy a kit? It appears my dock slip may be too narrow for most bottom standing types. I've a 108" wide & 282" long slip. Will be putting a '94 - '97 Nautique on it for the next couple years. Sitting in 3.5'-4.5' deep water. Thank you!

We will need some more information. Do you have a boat house?

I just put in the Doozie cable lift and they worked with me on custom length lift I-beams. My slip is a non-standard width.

Yes more info required. At that depth you probably cannot sink the bunks deep enough to float the boat. Also, my guess is being in Illinois that you remove the lift for the winter. Also provide the lake bottom material.

If you have a boat house to hang a hoist from you could do a hoist lift. 3.5’ would be just barely enough depth I think. Lot of options for those but it is a construction project for yourself if you’re handy or hire a contractor

I have a slip but no boat house. My plan is to build one using (8) 4"x6" posts with trusses and a metal roof. The lift will hopefully be installed immediately afterwards. I'm no professional but am capable and plan to build it myself with some friend labor thrown in. Appreciate you guys!
