Thinking about exploring Lake Jocassee one weekend this summer. If anyone has experience boating on this lake please PM me or share your experience. Thanks.
Absolutely a worth while trip. Depending on water levels, there are a few waterfalls that you can boat right up to, close enough to put the bow in. Id planning on renting an RV pad, id consider reserving soon. The rental cabins usually book up within a couple days of booking season opening.

Negative... we did go to Burton and Oconee. A lot of fun. on our way to Toxaway this week. not bringing the boat though. going trout fishing. i have heard nothing but good about Jocassee. parkingcan be a pain though. enjoy!
Jocassee is beautiful ... water will be cold this time of year. Cold water fed by 3 streams and over 300’ deep in spots. Incredibly clear water. Very natural lake...not many houses on it. When I lived in that area it was my go-to lake in July/August because the water was still very cool. Next lake down is Keowee which is also an incredible lake, though very different than Jocassee. Enjoy!

We will be on Keowee for 7 days. Just thought about taking a trip up there for one day to check it out. WHat do you consider cold? Our water up north has already dropped. If it’s near 50 I’m good.
I’m from SC so I’m a big wuss when it comes to cold water. LOL! I don’t know the temp right now, but Jocassee ranges from upper 40’s to low 50’s in the winter so it should be warmer than that now. You should be fine.
My goal in life is to retire on Keowee ... it’s a really really nice lake. Being a Clemson grad, it’s only a few miles away from campus and so that adds to the attraction for me.
Enjoy your time in the area! There’s a very nice Nautique dealership (WaterSports Central) in Seneca which is at the bottom of Lake Keowee. I got my G21 from them ... great people there.

We love Keowee. My friend lives on the lake so we have been visiting him since we got my first G23 in 2018. By going in March and November we extend the season out so we only have 3 months of downtime. Really we were just trying to figure out if it’s worth the hassle of pulling the boat out and driving up to Jocassee for a day.
If Zeta didnt take the leaves like she did on the high country, there should still be some color at that elevation. Still a good time to go for touring the lake. If Keowee is your jumping off point, then yes, worth a day trip to pull the boat and go.
