Replaced the hydraulic fluid in the lift today.

Here's what came out. At least 6 years old...maybe more..dunno.

What lift do you have? I may want to do mine soon and the want like $80/at for the stuff. I think all it is is RV antifreeze but not 100% sure.

It's a Basta lift. Older version...uses a standard 12v hydraulic system that you can see on lift gates, snow plow system, etc.

I also found lift fluid ridiculously expensive so I purchased 5 gallons from Amazon for $150 delivered (it's gone up just a bit) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I needed about 5...maybe 6 quarts to do a 4000 lb lift. I'll sell the excess fluid and might even make a few bucks.

Yeah, I have a sunstream and they use a pink hydraulic fluid. These lifts are such low duty cycle that I dont think it matters too much what we use. I do know sunstream wants your first born child and their first born for a quart of that stuff!

I suspect they all run the same class of fluid - it's an eco friendly water soluble hydraulic fluid. Here's Basta's pamphlet on what Basta says are acceptable fluids. The Mobile product I listed above is the superseded version of the fluid on this pamphlet.

Maybe you can cross in the Sunstream fluid? Only reason I might use theirs would be if the lift is still under warranty.
