'sold out'? im not a big metallica fan, but i dunno people say that all the time about bands & how they've supposedly 'sold out' & im just not buying it, it's not like the band got into the business to be dirt poor & just make good music...
Anything Guster, Jack's Mannequin, Pearl Jam, Ben Folds, etc.
....me neither...and I don't really care all that much.....just never expected a revolutionary metal band from my youth to cover a Bob Seager tune, and in my opinion it's lame.....to each, it's own.
Why is it lame? I agree, I don't think they have "sold out". They have had a good career, you can only make so much of the same music, time to slow down and try different things. Bands cover old songs all the time, put a new spin on them. What is selling out? Who are all these no name bands that probably make enough money to pay their rent and buy some mind blowing chemicals.
FWIW, this thread has been done before, possibly a few times but what the **** I'll chime in.
We listen to a W I D E variety of music, hard to name a few songs but...
nope can't do it.
I have to put a couple of cents in here... I teach spinning during the week and love to mix music in my free time. I would like to share one of my favorite mixes, some popular names, some not so popular... Enjoy!!!

Favorite Ski/board tune is Metallica doing a cover of Bob Seger's On the Road Again. BKH
No offense BK....but the first time I heard that tune I knew Metallica had officially 'sold out'.....
No offense taken. I'm not much of a Metallica fan. Just heard the song and liked
it. If I were a Metallica fan, I'd probably feel the same way  BKH
