That's pretty crazy. When I went to Green Lake for the Midwest Reunion this year, I tied the back of my boat down for the first time since I've had it. Growing up, I remember our 71 Martinique and first "2001" (82?) didn't even have a winch on the CC Trailer. We wouldn't secure those at all. Those pics make me realize it's kind of silly not to take the extra 2 minutes and make sure everythings tied down nice and tight.

Unfortunately when stuff goes wrong thoes straps don't do anything but break.

That's a crazy accident though, do you have a link to a story?

wow, from the pics the boat looks to be in pretty good shape. i'm sure there is some hull damage though. if there wasn't then, the clean up crew will be sure and total it.

My CC trailer doesn't have a wench. Just a chain and a little clamp thing to hook through the nose ring. I always use the strap that goes from wheel well to wheel well an over the boat though.
