    Engine Hours on my 2006 Chevrolet Pick-up.

    For what it's worth, my '06 truck records engine hours. At present it has 434 hours and 15,346 miles. Don't know how this translates into "boatie" hours, but my '99 SNOB has 261 hours.

    there as been some talk about that on other sites really courious how close it would be since the speeds/distance would be less for the same given time on a boat that is going to average 35-40mph verse the 50 or more a vehicle would see.

      It would be interesting to see the difference between engine hours and "tach" hours. My local flight school records these hours that the engine is operating above a certain rpm. I would think that our ski boats, with fewer total hours, would have much higher tach hours on them.

        It's actually deceiving. Most of us thing we average 50 mph in our cars. However, if you do the math on snob's truck, he's actually averaged 35.4 mph. The numbers on my 04 Chevy truck are very similar. Many of us think we average about 30mph on our boats. I'm guessing reality is probably more like 15-20mph. pj makes a good point about the number of hours that boats are operated at high rpms. BKH

          My truck has an avg mph along with the hobbs... A great majority of my driving is highway (interstate) driving, and my avg mph is like BKH said, 35mph.

              I don't know brian I've got almost 75K on the 04 colorado and I don't like to go slow in the boat so I wouldn't fall into the norm but your pretty close for 90% I would say.
