Lake recommendations

I’m looking to buy a lake place for my family. I’m located in north east FL but can’t find anything suitable. Really just nothing available on the few lakes that don’t have water level stability issues.

we are expanding our search to AL, FL, GA, SC, and NC

if anyone has recommendations for a lake place I would welcome any input.

Astor all the way. One of Florida's hidden gems often noted as in the middle of nowhere but in the middle of everything. Just sold my vacation place after 15 years...sad day. St. Johns is great south of Lake George and a whole lot different from what you see from Lake George north to Jax. You can ride for miles with no boat traffic with a well protected shore. Short ride to Silver Glen and Salt Springs. Fresh water. All the amenities of the Ocala National Forest. Has a vacation 2nd home feel to the town. Get a local hotel room on the water or vacation rental and check it out.
