The picture below is from a local lake (Jordanelle State Park). My daughter was on a neighbor's G25 SAN "surf barge" and watched the Park Rangers tow the upside-down boat in to the marina area. Based on the rudder and tracking fins, I'd say this is a Malibu Response. My daughter asked the local Rangers and the incident seems to have been caused by big surf wakes and poor driving by the Malibu operator.

Be interesting to see what the local news write-ups say what happened.
I wouldn't be too surprised to hear that a Response was swamped; some of the late 90s/early 2000's models have pretty minimal freeboard.
I won't let noobs drive my 206 when the surf rigs are working the lake; too easy to stuff the nose. If the malibu was a openbow model, I could see how a driving booboo could have taken in a lot of water.....

Oh man. Those surf “ships” again!!?! When will they stop!?!! The lake I’m on is very busy and I’ve never
Seen or heard of anything like this happening due to a wake and we have aluminum fishing boats and small runabouts alongside those surf
“Tankers”. I’ve never even seen a paddle boarder get knocked down. Let’s maybe wait to hear more detail before the customary sh!tting on wake “galleons” starts.
