Show skiing.
Chinese invited a group from our club, Badwater Ski-Ters and the WI Rapids Aqua Skiers. Tampa, Rock Aqua Jays and Badgerland have gone in the past. 8 shows in 16 days skiing with the Chinese National Team. Nanjing, Liaocheng, Bejing, and ended up in Shanghai. Trip of a lifetime. The Chinese people were some of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met. The dock from the pic was in Nanjing and was built just for our shows and taken down when we were done. One of the shows was broadcast live throughout China. Weird having that camera chasing you around on the stage. We had two 2004 196's and a Mastercraft Prostar to use.
Favorite picture is attached. Chinese military had a flag raising ceremony in Liaocheng. On the Friday before the show when we were training the soldiers must have practiced for about 3 hours running our flag and the Chinese flag up the poles. Very serious business for them. Hate to sound to corny but it was a very moving experience for all of us.
330 excalibur's in each of the Nautiques. Ran on some kind of gasoline. I say that because each day the guys running the event would show up with unmarked 55 gallon drums and siphon the fuel into the boats. Chinese were great to work with. Lots of smiles and positive attitudes.
Photo is two from our team and a Chinese skier doing helis.
