    Looking for constructive criticism

I emailed Jeff to make sure he was okay with this and his response was yes, but be prepared because people will tell you exactly what they think. That is fine.

I'm hoping to get some feedback on my site design and useability, functionality, etc from anyone who doesn't mind. basically it's hard for me to look at it with unbiased eyes since i've been working on it for 2-3 weeks straight.

The site is http://www.onlyinboards.com and there are some articles missing still, but nothing too important. Anyway, if you don't mind, check it out and just let me know if there are problems, improvements... any feedback is welcomed!

    This is MUCH appreciated!
    Regards,
    Ian Brown

    RE: Looking for constructive criticism

Well let's start off with the font of the boat companies is hard to read and the thumbnails aren't working in the individual boat ads.

ok, great. there isn't a thumbnail for each ad... maybe I should put an image that says "no image" or something... good idea.

I didnt look at everything, but from a quick glance, I like it a lot.. just take one of those MC shots down in the header and get a CC in there... 8-)

I agree with the font comment also...

I agree with Hollywood on the font size for the boat companies - would be easier to read if they were larger font and maybe a different color.

Other than that, the site is nice

Great so far guys, you have no idea how much I appreciate this, and appreciate Jeff for allowing it. I guess another question is.. would you use it to search for a boat?

Most definately! I think this would be a welcome site too since Flipsell is MIA and more than likely not coming back.

But a centralized site would definately be a hit IMO.

                Nice work!

Great looking site with some great ideas behind it. My only suggestion thus far is to make the links active to the boat dealerships instead of having to copy and paste them.

What programs are you using to make the site and do the graphics? It looks very professional.

I have a contact who did the site for me. If you ever need a site template, let me know, he's super cheap and always looking for work. a few hundred bucks for a basic template. He used photoshop to develop it. the site itself (the technology) i had done by some contacts I have in Russia (also cheaper).

i didn't link the dealerships quite yet because i think they are a great source of potential advertisers... giving them a free link might make it less attractive.... but i know what you mean.

very nice site overall. i would recommend adding New Dimension Towers to the "Wakeboard Tower Manufacturers" section.

How about a sending an email notifying them to a new listing that matches their search criteria? See any real estate website for example.

The info about checking for stringers being "metal or wood" is not necessarily correct. Stringers are either fiberglass or wood generally. I don't think metal stringers would work too well.
