Why can't I ever find water like this when I'm out riding?

Yeah, that's one cool thing about this place. The view is great. Makes me want to go out and ride. Here's another shot.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking it might be because when you're out riding, it's not 20 degrees outside, and there are lots of others on the lake to join you :grin: BKH

I've pretty much got a tournament slalom lake behind the office. Turn around islands and all! Problem is it's only a few feet deep and infested with beavers, ducks and geese.

These shots are of the Potomac River. I hardly ever see ANY boats out there during the week, and when I do, they're usually random tugboats or small yachts. I have never had my boat on the Potomac, but I know of a member from this site who has had his 196 out there.

Trust me, they all learn pretty quick to get out of the way.

Water schmater I want an offfice like that. Also the colder it gets the smoother water gets until its as smooth as ice!!!

Yeah, I guess it is a pretty cool view. If I look to the left, I can see the Washington Monument. Looking out across the river (like the pictures show), I see Maryland. The office is in Alexandria, VA. We spent a few minutes today watching Air Force One do practice take-offs and landings at the Air Force base across the river - right from that window. That was pretty cool.
