FOUR DOOR ONLY!
Do not buy an extended cab unless you like to get stuck between the doors in parking lots (when using both the front door and the extended door and car next to you). If you don't know what I'm talking about you will, if you buy one. I owned one, once.........
Crew Cab all the way

Love the crew cab, but we have an extended cab. Now that we have a little one riding back there I know that the crew cab would be a little easier to use. My wife likes driving the smaller truck, perhaps in a few years she'll want a bigger one.
To be fair, some people just don't like the big truck and all that comes with it(length).

I'll throw my 2 cents in even though no one asked for it.
I can see the argument for the crew cab if the truck will be an every day vehicle that has to do everything well. Obviously the crew is a better people mover than an ext cab. However, a crew cab with a short (5' or shorter) does not appeal to me- it seems having a bed that small would defeat the purpose of having a truck in the first place. If carrying people and gear inside the cabin is a major priority, an SUV seems to be a better compromise. Although a crew cab/short bed may hold more people than an ext cab, and can haul more stuff than an SUV, it doesnt seem like it could do either particularly well.
You might want to evaluate your priorities. Perhaps if you can deal with the length (and the extra cost), a crew with a 6' or longer bed might be a nice setup. Just my opinion, YMMV.1990 Ski Nautique

Depends on what you want to do. I use my truck more for hauling stuff in the back and hardly ever have 4 people in it. The shorter bed on the crew cab would be a non-starter for me. The 6.5' bed is short enough as it is.
However, if you use it mostly for hauling a boat and extra people, no question, get the crew cab.2001 Ski Nautique / 2007 SV211 TE (gone but not forgotten)
