Ouch. Did you get hung up in the rope? Or land on a rock?

    Get well soon!

I landed in a squatted position. Only thing left to absorb my 205lbs was my tibia and fibula.

I completely obliterated my tibia and fibula a few years ago. I figured x-rays don't count as graphic photos, so when I saw this thread I went and took a photo of it. I have the originals, and as soon as I land the one pre-break trick that I still can't land (half-cab roll) it will go into a frame and on the wall next to the 138 Helix I did my rehab on. (shown below also...)

I did this on a backroll to late revert behind a poorly weighted boat. That marked the last time I change my mind mid-trick (It was going to just be a huge backroll into the flats but I changed my mind...). And the last time I tried anything mildly impressive on a crap wake. It also marked my disdain toward one specific brand of boat (those that know me can guess that brand).

I decided last minute to pull it around to revert and paid. As the X-ray shows, dearly. This summer I will nail that grabbed half cab roll again. I got my roll to revert back last summer - and that was the trick I was injured on and this psychologically troubled by. I had tears in my eyes when I landed that one, I tell you.

I've had my right ACL replaced once, and my left ACL replaced twice. I think it has a lot to do with weight. I'm about 210lbs and I keep trying to keep up with these 150lb guys. That and I think the Marine Corps wasn't very nice to my knees. Either way, I still love this sport and I'll keep riding as long as my wife will let me. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

Same as you Erik, I've gotten busted a few times changing my trick in mid-air!

              Left ACL torn doing 360.
Right ACL doing a switch jump (was going to do 180 but bailed out)
              Broken rib/torn cartilege doing raley
              Torn abs - 1/2cab roll
Broken rt ankle - 1/2cab roll
              Sprained left ankle - tantrum
Badly bruised forearm/bicep -- arm through handle 1/2cab roll

I've also chipped teeth, gotten stitches in various places and bruises galore!

Maybe I should take up golf!!

aside from a lot of bad cuts, bruises, and strained tendons/ligaments, ruptured tympanic membranes have been my only serious injuries.......knock on wood

                    Kneeboard injuries...

2001: Tore the inside of my right knee doing a surface roll and slamming into the wake off center.
2006: Crushed L1 vertebrae landing a simple backroll on an Obrien 5150. A trick I have landed a couple thousand times.....
Only wakesurfing at the moment. Doc says I am good to barefoot if I want, and kneeboard again if I choose. Not sure if I will or not. The back injury has me pretty gun shy.

I ruptured my left eardrum last spring right after we got our boat. Not that bad compared to the fractured vertebrae and torn ACLs mentioned above, but it was pretty scary when it happened. Felt like my head was going to explode...

                        Nice,

I have done the left eardrum myself - learing whirly... tore some muscle in my right peck (made me look as if I had a man-boob - arm in the handle on a really rough hoochie glide where my foot came out of my binding... tore my left (front) ACL - Nose grab front off double, landed in the trough... hurt pretty good

The eardrum was crazy... I could blow bubbles out of my ear.

You know, a busted eardrum is something I haven't experienced yet (fingers crossed) but it did happen to my brother in law as I was pulling him through the course and I know he had WAAAAAAAY more pain than I did tearing ACLs. I really didn't get swelling and could walk around fine after both ACL tears, but I guess the tradeoff was surgery and a lot of rehab.

Torn muscles are just awful. I had someone tear a bicep behind my boat and it looked HORRIBLE.

                            jhiestand,

Are you riding with any kind of knee brace now? What has your PT/doc said about future prevention, etc. Just want to know. I had the ACL surgery done Sept 1st, so I have been eagerly awaiting summer.

The peck ordeal looked worse than it was, but definitely looked crazy. My ACL I could barely walk for a week, but a month out I was almost normal other than the feeling that my lower leg was hanging by skin. haha

If anyone has experienced a knee injury I would recommend getting it looked at.

Well, not wakeboarding but can a slalom skier get in on the discussion?

I fell going from 2 to 3 (I think at 32off 36mph) fractured the ball of the humeral head and also had some very bad bruising of the humeral head and the shoulder tendons. The fall also tore the glenoid labrum, I have been trying not to have surgery because I don't want to lose another summer of skiing, but the pain came back about a month after finishing six weeks of physical therapy. I guess the cortisone shot was also starting to wear off by then too. So any shoulder injuries out there? How long would it take to come back from a surgery?

Anyway everything happened so quickly I really don’t know exactly how I hurt the shoulder but I sure knew I had hurt it.
