    The South just won't understand!!!!!!!

I am really excited today. I saw my first open water of 2007. I know many of you have been riding all year farther south, but this is pretty early for a lake to open up here in MN. Going to get the boat this weekend. I'm stoked.

Later, and by the way it's 85 degree here which is also not normal for March.

    RE: The South just won

Yeah it's unbelieveable right now! I just finished a frosty adult beverage on the patio...never thought I would be doing that here in March! The boat is in storage, and I can't gain access to it until the end of April...stupid decision on my part! I'll be on a friends boat on Medicine Lake as soon as the ice clears! Where do you ride??

The guys at Son thought I was nuts when I scheduled spring runup in the first couple days of April. Guess I should have done it this week

Hopefully it stays warm, ice should be out on most lakes by next weekend.

We usually ride on Lake Elmo Big Carnelian. But I think I will be riding on Island Lake this weekend when I get my baot back in town. Island Lake off 694 near Lexington Ave is the lake I saw open. Where do you guys ride?

I hear ya. At this rate, I'll be foiling on Lake Menomin (60 miles East of the Cities) Saturday.

I pulled my boat out of storage early. Just need to stick the new interior in and it's ready.

I am guessing my lake will be off this weekend as well, black as night out there, and supposed to be super windy the next couple days. I do not recall an 85* day in March. It was sick out.
MinnesotaNautique, who do you ride with ? I used to ride on Medicine years ago.

Sorry to hear..we've had some very abnormal temps here in NC the past few days, so I shook the dust off the 210 on Sunday and hopped on in. Wore a wet suit for the first ride of the day, but got a few "Silver Bullets" in me and the suit was not needed by time it was all said and done with!! It's shaping up to be a good season...hope your weather stays warm..

Free skied last night and put 1/2 of the course in. Thank God for global warming. Fire up those coal plants.

I go with a buddy who has a malibu...he's a competitive bare-footer (which means he's crazy). I leased a slip this year over at the Boat Works so I'm excited I don't have to deal with that crappy ramp!! I used to have a slip on White Bear...
Where is Ember Lake or Silver Creek for that matter?

                      SuperAir:

Know what your talking about. I work off of Lexongton and 694 and noticed Island Lake was completely open last night on my way home. Have a blast this weekend; I bought a 206 from Son last fall and since we closed on the sale in December of 06 this winter has been the longest that I can remember. I will probably get my boat towards mid April and will spend most of my time at Lake Marion in Lakeville - can't wait.

WakeS., you ever remember seeing a yellow prostar 190 on Medicine seven or so years back? I used to foot on that lake years back with a buddy and you couldn't miss that boat. Just curious if you were out there around that time as well.

Is there still a course up on the north arm of Medicine? That is awsome that Island is open already.

The course is not there anymore. It still is a great spot to free ski though. The bug run @ dusk is brutal in there.

Ha, Actually, the course is still there, but long since sunk to the bottom. That is my buddy's inflatable. Had a hose that ran to his dock. I have not skiied there in about 9 years. I moved out here to Silver Creek in 98 and never went back. Silver Creek is 10 miles past the Monticello exit on 94 west. I am about two miles south of the exit.
The North Arm was the best kept secret of the 90's. Great direction for wind, etc. We used to raft 15-20 boats on the weekend and all take turns. Not sure what it is like now.

We only ski it on weeknights, but never have more than 1 or 2 other boats taking turns. It would be great if we could get that course up again!!! (talk to your buddy Wslayer)
