My fathers 64 Porsche 356 SC its a pretty cool car.

she takes quite a bit of the boats money though, i think the boat gets jealous...

her history, she was originaly owned by a porsche race car driver, she was given to his nephew (sp), somewhere along the line the engine blew up. Car is all orignal execpept for paint, 3 of its weels, and the engine. But it does have the euro spec SC motor (no seral (sp) #). and my dad is always on the hunt for the original engine....

That is a car to be proud of for sure! You can't ask for much more of a car than that one. 1964...First year of four-wheel disc brakes. An SC...And a REAL SC, not an imposter. AND it is a cabriolet!! That is just about as good as you can get in a 356. For me, that would be just about my dream car. It would be close between a later 356 like that and a Convertible D, but a convertible D, while more rare (one year only), would require giving up some newer functionality like disc brakes, etc...

Oh man, that's a nice car. If he can track down the original engine, there'd be almost no topping that one. I'm sure he's checked with the people of the 356 registry, but if not, check out their site! They've tracked down a few original engines in their day.

oh, my dad is all over the 356 registry! I think his engine will be really hard to find, no one knows what happened to the original engine. were guessing that the block cracked. Hes stumbled across a few engines on ebay that were with in 15 (cars?) of his. but the hunt continues! I'll post what pics i have, but i really need to take some nice shots of the car. i have quite a few from the night it came home from SC.


as for me, i think if i were getting a 356 i would get a Ruter (sp) coupe. i just love the way thoes cars look. just for any one who doesnt know about the ruter (sp) coupe, Porsche had such a high demand for the coupe that they acctually contracted the people makeing their convertible 356's to do some hard tops. imagine my fathers car only with a solid roof.

lol...just a kid really interested in really nice cars... we all have our dreams...
