    Jumping off a boat at 30 & 36mph video

While surfing youtube.com I found this new watersport although I am not sure what its called. The title just says jumping off a wakeboard boat at 30 and 36 mph! Doesn't look too fun to me, what do you all think?

I think it's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.So much for boating safety. They've obviously been doing it for a while,as the carbon monoxide appears to be affecting their judgement....But that's just my opinion.

I would have to say that the last one that they claimed "hurt" was probably way less painfull than all the previous jumps. I love it when i can slide to a stop after a slalom crash. I hate it when you just hit the water and stick like the first few jumps they showed. I would say the one where the girl jumped out from the boat and landed with her feet first out behind her was probably the most painful.
At least they knew enough to try and hit the water on their backs.

I guess that's why alcohol and boating don't mix............wow, that's just DUMB Yellow_Flash_Colorz: , not only where are the 'rents but where's the Police/Coast Guard etc. I don't think I have seen anything much dumber. I would imagine if the guys in FL saw a Correct Craft being used that way they'd freak and I can't imagine that's what P.P. was created for either. I guess we'll soon have to see another sticker "don't be dumb and jump off the boat when it's moving."

I agree. I had a friend of mine once that tried to get me to do that. He wanted to run down the middle of the boat, he thought he could clear the motor and cannon ball into the water. He was on my boat so I told him NO WAY.

yeah that might be the biggest waste of a Nautique that i've ever seen. I've sat on the swim platform & lowered myself into the water when i was learning how to barefoot, but doing that you have the correct gear(BarefootSuit), and youre in the right position (butt slide), Jumping feet first is completely stupid. I've dive off the boat going maybe 10 mph & that'll mess you up if you dont hit the water right. I'm just a 21 y/o kid that does some stupid stuff, and this is wayy out of my league.
Someone should reposess their Nautique. haha

This is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen anyone do on a boat. We had a guy jump of the side of a boat once going about 22, while towing a guy on an Air Chair...... came within 6-8 feet of hitting his dumb ***. We picked him up and dropped him off on shore. Never invited him out again. people need to consider the consequences of their actions. I am all about the fun, but come on........

I tend to think these are the "new boat owners." They haven't been involved nor had a friend get seriously injured. The waiting for help on the lake, watching for a helicopter to land etc. Obviously these are "kids" that shouldn't be using the boat becuase they haven't bothered to get the proper basic training. My only other thought, is they think they're on an episode of Baywatch, with the opening scene where they jump off of the moving Scarab's.

Good points Skiswm. I had the misfortune of a good friend breaking his Femur on the lake this summer. Thank God they have a patrol on the weekends, fire rescue boat. Femurs can be life threatening. Sitting their waiting was the worst, had there been no patrol, we may have had to transport, and have to move him up off the swimstep.

Chopper came and away he went. I still consider ourselves lucky.

What would you do with someone who broke their neck jumping off the boat?? you have a floating backboard in your first aid kit??
