Holidaying in Palm Springs this summer

Hi all, am wondering what interesting activities my family and i ( two kids, 9 and 10)can get into this summer at Rancho Mirage....
I know its really hot, but my sister had booked a large villa for a month....so we will spend afew weeks there before heading to Miami and Orlando.
Might as well see ( and do) as much as we can since we r from the other side of the world.
Probably visit the new CC factory when in Orlando.

Any suggestions PLEASE!!!!

You will only be about 1.5 hours from San Diego. The Zoo Wild Animal Park and Seaworld are all great. There is also a great day trip to Idelwyld. it is the area in the mountains west of Rancho Mirage where the Native Americans went to escape the heat. Have fun.

Sunset Ranch Ski Lakes is just outside LaQuinta (30 min) if you want to get in some slalom sets.
