Looking at purchasing a new tow rig...anyone have any feedback on the Toyota Sequoia?

    RE: Toyota Sequoia

It pulls my 206 w/tandem axle trailer easily and handles very well. I did need to use a 1-2" riser for the ball hitch.

nice, thanks for the feedback. i really like the vehicle overall and it has much more room inside than our current tow rig.

We just purchased an 05 Sequioa Limited 2 wheel drive and we love it for towing our SN 206. They increased the power and improved the transmission in 05 so I would recommend an 05 or newer. It handles great and stops no problem when towing. Also, we have the load leveling air suspension which is a really cool feature. It also has a standard oversized transmission cooler (I just learned this the other day). The only thing that I don't like is that the factory nav system isn't compatible with an aftemarket back-up camera. So if this is something you want, you may want to find one without a nav system and install an aftermarket nav system with back up camera. I was told that this will be standard in 08 with the nav systems (along with the new Tundra platform, drive train and tranny). Finally, some people tried talking us out of it because the Sequoia is "notoriously underpowered" with the 4.7L engine. We have been on several 100+ mile trips up moderate grades and we were able to hold 70 MPH uphill without really working the engine or tranny, but I could see it working harder up really steep grades (it isn't a diesel with 800 ft. lbs of torque--but it suits our needs). All in all, we love the vehicle and are very happy with our purchase.
