Reclaim the ski course I helped install five years ago from the neighborhood "beautiful people" in their Ski Nautiques.

So, how did everyone make out this year? What did you and didn't you accomplish? Also, post pics if you have them of what you did with your SN this year.

Turning 21 put a huge spin on my summer. I gained some endurace barefooting, no backwards or no new tricks. I think I slalomed a whole 2 times. Still can't do much on a wakeboard, didn't kneeboard once. Trick skiied exactly once. Keep in mind I was probably drinking 80% of the time I was out on the water, and if I could start the summer over again, I wouldn't change a thing. One the bright side, no tickets out on the water or injuries.

Now that I'm back to 3-event tournament skiing, I'll be getting into 22' off next week and am jumping mid 60'. Almost landed my first helicopter attempt also. Still got a few weeks left in the season too.

Well this season (hopefully its not over yet), I learned my TS 180s and got a lot better at riding switch. I'm really, really close on my TS wake to wakes and I'm getting much better air on my HS w2w. I'm pretty happy with my progress and I learned a lot on the wakesurf board and I got a little bit better on the wakeskate.

Long line barefooting behind the boat was great. Also, got my oldest (11) slalom skiing. Still working on starts, but getting real close and is very consistent on the boom.

No Injuries this year was a big plus. (except for the boat) Also, the goal of seeing how much we can get out on the water was also interesting. Only missed 5 weekends this summer since mid April. 2 of those due to weather. 1 due to some travel. 1 due to the boat being in the shop, and this past weekend due to moving out of our house. Not bad...

It was a great summer. Hopefully it's not over....hope to keep going past Halloween.

As for hydrofoiling, I kind of dropped that to slalom. My goal for the last two years was to get a gainer down. That never happened. I still hope to do it this year, but I still wouldn't consider it a real "goal."

I've seen a lot of barefooting. Looks interesting!
Wow... This season has had surprises left and right for me. Ofcourse it all started when we decided we were finally getting a Nautique. Then after a disagreement with our local shop we got a slalom demo from online. Then as it turns out the lake didn't have a course set up this year and the only time I had a course was when I was in Maine for two weeks. Only about 12+ runs through it didn't get me close to all six, maybe every other one if I was lucky. I aced the mini-course, boat going btw boat and skier bouy, but the regular course, I'm still in need of much lessons.

Then just two weeks ago in my first run of the season in my full suit, I bring 4 friends onto the boat for the first time when its "chili" out and wanna show them what the heck a skyski is. They all think I'm an idiot when I talk about it. So I show them, its the end of the season, I have my special "invert footstays" on, and a boat comes by, so now I have the most attention on me I've had all summer with the hopes of me at its heighest. I get tired from the extra pull due to the cold, pull out of the wake close to an oncoming boat, and throw it all back, and land my first invert! HOLY CRAP! Actually, it was my second try that day, but I still had no clue it was going to happen. I was just messing around the whole time.

                **** does that feel good!

So maybe I should set my goals to just ski recreationally next season and I'll find myself at the INT championships...

                  '05 Season Goals

Well as you can see this time last year I said that I wouldn't really concentrate on hydrofoiling, didn't really care about nor expect to land a flip. Instead I wanted to concentrate on slaloming and get the course down. As of now, I'm solid on landing a dismount gainer (flip after letting go) and still suck at the course...

So my goals are a little different for this year. I still want to get the course down, but more importantly, I want to get a solid gainer down (flip not letting go) and maybe even a roll.

                  And for you...

TS Off Axis 5's, TS front roll, Tantrum, indy tantrum, Off Axis backside 180, Indy glide, TS raley, and maybe a Batwing. Thats about it, maybe try a few tantrum combonations like tantrum to blind and tantrum to revert.

Wakeboarding: Raley, 360 W2W, just get down sticking sone big airs w/ different grabs.
                      Barefooting: Learn to Barefoot.

Raley, Batwing, Backroll, 360 and maybe learn to do something switch, but probably not. I'd like to atleast see a slalom course this summer, and get some more guys barefooting so we can do triple deepwater and quad step-outs.

This is only my 3rd season on a wakeboard. I really want to take a step back and actually learn the fundamentals and advance step by step. I need to get much more consistant on all my wake jumps (HS, TS, FS, BS) and I need to get more comfy riding switch. Then I want to progress to a few spins and more grabs. Hopefully, I can accomplish it this season, I plan on being out on the water alot...

In the past I just went out and tried stuff without learning the basics first and it has limited me on what I can do.

I've only slalom skied twice and this is someting I want to learn for sure this year. 8-)

                            Bump for 2006 season...

1 - Average 3 outings a week through the summer.

                            2 - Complete slalom course @ 30 mph.

3 - Learn how to barefoot off a boom.

Nice thread.. good to see it again..

1.) Get that **** gainer down on the SkySki (NOT dismount!)
2.) Get at least 3 consecutive outside bouys on the course @ 30 mph, 15 off
3.) Learn to get better at wakeboarding so I'm not a disgrace to all Nautique owners
4.) Surf w/o holding on to the rope. ;-)
5.) Learn to barefoot off a boom, also...

6.) Try not to kill half a tank of gas in 30 minutes just from bombing it up and down the 9 mile lake in 5 minutes!

7.) Meet ALL the new Nautique owners on the lake!!! 8-) oh yeah...

Think thats it for now, but i'm sure i'll think of more once I submit this...

                                2. land the 3 in the flats
