East Bay "MUD" to close off some lakes...

Not sure how many may have caught this, but with the rise of Mussles being found on boats, East Bay Mud who owns and manages Lake Camanche and Don Pedro will be closing the lakes off to boats from So. Cal and will also require boats be inspected before being launched. EBMUD serves a large part of the SF Bay Area's water needs. While I can undestand people being mad about this, I understand where they are coming from. If this somehow gets into the Delta waterways things could get really bad for the entire state.

Here's an article about it http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl.../BAFGUL768.DTL or look here for info from the State of CA http://www.dfg.ca.gov/invasives/quaggamussel/

EBMUD operates Camanche and Pardee Reservoirs, Don Pedro is operated by someone else. The Quagga mussles have been found in So cal already and it is just a matter of time before we see them in Northern Cali . They already are in the Mississippi river drainage and Great Lakes.

So if it gets into the Delta are they going to close the port of stockton down to the big ships.....I don't think so. It's crazy when you see one of them coming at you......
