How about a DIY Section

I would love to see a DIY section with lots of pics with each write up. This could be a great deal of help for our memebers and also could save them a lot of money over using the dealer.

I'm up for trying that for a little while to see if it takes off. Do you guys think this should be a regular forum like the General Nautique Discussion and the Maintenance and Technical sections, or do you think a section on the front page, similar to the press releases would be more appropriate?

I think it should be a regular forum. I would say that the guidline be to make sure and use the exact description of what your DIYing in the title of the thread ie oil change for EXE 343 or V-Drive Trans flush.........


I know that I have used the DIY section on ClubLexus so many times I can't even remember......it's also saved me a TON of money!

I'm hoping to de-winterize in the next two or three weeks.

I'm a few pics short, but I volunteer the finish the long awaited DIY for the serpentine/impeller change. I've got most of the pics...but the day I took those, I got DRENCHED with rain and had to skip pics and finish it up. (Should have known....it hadn't rained in months.)

I think as far as a ballast write up is concerned, there have been so many great ones done with pics that one or 2 could easily be moved to that forum. A lot of general stuff too would be great info there like the V drive oil change, engine oil change, amplifier mounting backer build, ect. Give it a little time, especially though the summer and I bet it would take off. I will do a write up on installing my tower bimini when I get in a few weeks and post that one to start off with.
