Hey Jeff, what's with the MC ad? The guy joins just to post his boat for sale and contributes to the site in no way. I'm not trying to hate on MC or anything, but I didn't think that's what PlanetNautique was for.

RE: Random Ads
with all things considered.....that seemed like a sweet boat that was incredibly maintained....wouldn't mind having a guy like that on this site as a resource...MC or CC.....we all have the same passion...and that guy seems to be very passionate about his boat.
To tell you the truth....having folks with a similar passion for watersports and boating is one of the reasons I utilize PlanetNautique....its tough to sort thru all the misc. crud, political opinion, competition bashing, religious bashing, and general arguing that occurs on some of the other owner sites....
A perfect example is the current thread about someone searching the market for a boat that’s right for him…..maybe it’s a MC...maybe it's a Malibu….maybe it’s a CC…..the responses are honest and very understanding of someone that is preparing to spend a ton of money and wants to make sure he’s making the right decision for him and his family.

RE: Random Ads
I see no reason why another fellow skier/boarder/whatever cannot try to sell his boat here. I tried selling my friends XStar here, no harm there... It wouldn't be very right if we weren't allowed anybody to sell a non-CC boat here...I Nautique, therefore I am.

RE: Random Ads
Either way, it's just one ad and will pass without many people noticing. It looks like he did the same thing at wakeboarder.com too. One post, one ad. It is no doubt the sweetest '88 MC I've ever seen and shouldn't have much trouble selling it anyhow.

RE: Random Ads
I thinks its ok. You should have the comments when I posted on the Team Mastercraft the link for Clarion radio manual from here. To say they were surprised their site didn't have the information would be an understatement.Current

RE: Random Ads
You've got to admit, that MC has been well maintained and looks pretty sharp. It was a tasteful post, and he even posted it in the proper section. I might feel differently if he had cross posted in several of the sections.
It’s hard to go through and demand that every user contribute to the site in a constructive manner. We have tons of users daily who are guests and browse the board and never post or add any value. This site was created as a resource, primarily for Nautique owners, but if other boat owners receive value from it, great!
Besides, maybe the MC is being sold to upgrade to a new Nautique!

RE: Ramdom ADS
Why does anybody care if he contributes to the site or not? If there is a potential buyer here than he has every right to post it. Just think of the picture it would give of CC if he was not allowed to post here... PDT_046I Nautique, therefore I am.

RE: Re: RE: Ramdom ADS
I know we don't have any relation with CC technically, but in every other way, I think we are accociated with them more than anyone else. We are all their #1 customers and fans. Being that, we represent the company to an extent. And even though we technically aren't accociated with them, do we want the site having that bad reputation? I would be pretty pissed if I got shot down for trying to sell my boat on tmcowners.com or mymastercraft.com.
And lastly, how is this crap? He is one of the more serious sellers I've seen online. He knows what he's talking about and does all the right things when trying to sell a boat. I've seen a lot more crap than this guy. Sellers like him give the site a better and more mature picture. I don't think it is crap at all. Just like the religion issue in the catalog, if you don't like it, don't read it!I Nautique, therefore I am.

Hollywood, Rocco, et. al.,
You bring up a valid point in that the primary purpose of this
site is not to be a free advertising source for the sale of used boats.
If it gets to be a problem, then we'll collectively need to figure out
a clever, and classy way to reduce or eliminate the issue.
At this point, IMHO it's not really a problem. You've given folks some
food for thought as to what we all want the site to be, and that's
probably enough for now.
As Hollywood said in his first post, no need to go off hatin' MCs. Like
most of you, I like CCs. However, first and foremost, I love boats.
The guy obviously took good care of the boat, and like it or not
MCs are pretty good boats. I would think he would do better trying
to sell his boat on tmcowners.com, but if he thinks a site dedicated
to the love of nautiques is a good place to advertise then so be it.
This is a great site because it is very tolerant. Young and old, new to
boating and old salts, wakeboard and skiing, big amps and no music
allowed, US and countries around the world.
Keep it classy and the rest will work itself out. That's sort of what
Correct Craft itself has been about for over 75 years.
And that's my $.02 +
