Jeff has set the precedent that vendors and ex-vendors' interests trump members in here, it is a business for him. if you want honest feedback and dialog, you'll have to go to another forum, Malibu's will have honest dialog.

Yes, this site does have sponsors, and yes, I promote their brands when it is reasonable to do so. Quite frankly I am very selective about the brands that I work with as site sponsors here, and I believe they represent the best in the industry. That being said, any member here is certainly free to post any thoughts or opinions they want about any product. I have never downplayed any non-sponsor vendor's products in order to promote our sponsors. That's just not my nature, and it is not how I run this site. I state my opinions, and let others state theirs. It is certainly better for the industry as a whole when there is frank discussion about the products and what the customers want. I certainly think that can happen here.

Has absolutely nothing to do with any specific brand, Ive got Kicker and 6 other brands in my boat now, seriously. Has to do with allowing vendors to spew one sided rhethoric promoting their brands and their builds, while bashing others, then he'll censor and plant a PN TOU violation flag when they are called on it.

What you end up with is a website, that is supposedly representative of a community, where folks dont want to contribute or participate because of that spin. The community loses as a whole, especially the newer members looking for help and perspective.

The only person from Roswell who was active at all here is no longer with the company, and his posts certainly didn't bash other vendors. Rarely a person from SkiSafe will make a post here, but that has only happened a handful of times, and the posts certainly are nothing like you describe. George from Christine's Marine makes posts every so often, but again, nothing that bashes anyone else. I don't think any other sponsors are active in the forums here.

As far as censoring posts, I assume you're talking about this thread, where you clearly violated the site terms of use. Yes, I removed your insults from that thread, and clearly marked it as modified by an administrator. Please note, however, that I did NOT modify the meaning of your post. I simply removed the inappropriate content (which is actually a smaller reaction than called for in the terms of use). The removal of your personal insults certainly had nothing to do with promoting one brand over another. I think that would be clear to anyone reading the thread.

Ryan, there are going to be people who disagree with you in life, whether it is about stereo installation, engine choice, or anything else. It is up to you how you respond to these differences in opinion, but here, you must follow our terms of use. I am sorry you seem to be upset about being called out in that thread for not following those terms, but please remember that you did agree to follow them when you registered here. I believe in those terms of use, and I will enforce them as needed. Luckily I can say that there have been only a handful of times I have had to enforce them in that way in the twelve years this site has been around.

I have to agree there is very little vendor activity on PN, and when there is activity it's usually them creating a new post to hype a new product release or current sale/discount their running. Heck even on WakeWorld (home of controversy) there is very little "bashing" between actual vendors... Mostly owners of said vendor's products arguing for that vendor.

I'm still confused by nyryan2001's previous posts seeming to bash Kicker products as "Walmart brand", then commenting he has Kicker products on is boat. His original comments almost seem to be meant for another thread all together.

FWIW, I have nothing to add to the original thread since I don't own a G, but I love my Rev410s and would strongly suggest them if they fit the OP's budget and application.

Core, you sometimes dont know who the vendors are on here, and they are here and yep they are active, and yep it was for an entirely different thread. They hype their brands and trash others, omit information, etc etc. And its not site sponsors, its vendors.

Jeff, none of it was insults. it was fact as crazy as it sounded....as in all of it. I doubt you knew that when you deleted it thinking it was. But when asked why not more particpation? Expect an honest answer.

It was straight up name calling, a clear violation of the terms of use.

And I have never asked about lack of participation. I think the site is doing just fine. It appeared to me that you simply chose to attack me and the way I run the site, totally unprovoked.

Be warned, I will be enforcing the terms of use very strictly going forward. I simply will not tolerate the kinds of posts I have seen from you on occasion, and you know the ones I am talking about. I will not allow this forum to descend into the likes of other forums on the web where there are constant insults, name calling, and otherwise non-productive posts. I suggest you read through the terms of use and consider them carefully.

I would like to see examples of vendors who trash other brands simply to promote their own. If this is proven true, it will certainly be addressed.
