I think it was NautiqueJeff that mentioned in his post regarding adding a picture to a signature that we pay for a certain amount of bandwidth etc.... I'm a new member and was wondering exactly how this site is funded and maintained. It appears that Tige and Skiers' Choice sponsor their discussion boards while MBO is trying to figure out the best way to keep their site running. Just curious if we need to do/contribute anything to support this outstanding site....

I know right now that Jeff and Luke are funding it out of their own pockets. I asked them about it awhile ago and they said they were fine on the money aspect. You guys just need to speak up when you need cash. We have no problem chipping in! Keep up the great work.

What’s that saying …“a boat is a hole in the water you throw money into...” That saying runs pretty parallel with this website. Currently Jeff and I fund this website out of pocket. We don’t charge our users anything and we don’t plan to in the future. We have no affiliation with CC and currently have no sponsors/advertisers. We run the website because we enjoy it.
We have grown exponentially over the past month and hope to continue to do so as more people become aware of the site. Recently we rebuilt the entire site from the ground up and are still fine tuning it. There is quite a bit of room for growth on our current setup. If/when we have to bump up to the next level Jeff and I will weigh our options and react accordingly.
We may make some new options available in the near future, such as Pay Pal donations and a PlanetNautique.com store. We are still trying to determine if and how these would be best implemented. Until then, we appreciate the concern and offers.
Thanks,
-Luke

We have set up the ability for users to make donations to the site.
If you're interested, please click on the Make a Donation link on the left side of the page.
As was stated before, this is not a requirement. These donations will be used to pay for
things like our web hosting and bandwidth usage.
