I think we should make sure this thread doesn't turn into dealer bashing, that doesn't do anybody any good. I'd suggest we throw compliments where they're deserved and earned and try to limit the criticism to specific "opportunites for improvement" and not throw an entire dealer under the bus due to a bad experience with sales issue or a service issue.

I like the idea of being able to read some dealer reviews, I think we all can benefit from it. As an example, I've read multiple times about great experiences at Buxton Marine, I'm not sure where they're located but if I lived near them I wouldn't hesitate to go there. I've also commented in other posts about Silver Spray Sports, I would give their sales department and there service department a 10 out of 10. My experience there has been nothing short of fantastic and I like the idea of letting others know that.

I've had 4 Nautique dealers, nearly 700hrs on my Nautiques. 2 have been exceptional, 1 bad and 1 straight horrendous worse than worse. I move often, so Dealer reputation and ethics are of primo importance to me. I know my feedback and experiences may be of value to other owners.

with Jeff Having dealers as site sponsors, I can understand his reluctance to allow criticisms.

one of those he most powerful things about sites like Amazon are customer reviews. Thinking you can somehow limit the type of feedback to only positive feedback is ridiculous.

Folks will recognize exceptions where feedback is overwhelmingly not in line with the others for
what it is-- an outlier, not consistent or representative of that dealer. On the other hand... you continue to get bad feedback, you have a pattern.

I have considered this carefully, and I do not think I will implement a forum just for dealer reviews.

I believe it would likely be similar to other online review forums, where the vast majority of the information is negative. Normally there is very little incentive for anyone to post positive or neutral experiences in places like that. On top of that, there are many Nautique dealers who are not members here, and would have no idea that their dealership is being discussed, and thus would not have the opportunity to provide their side on reviews.

As always, members can post their dealership experiences in the General Nautique Discussion section. I am not saying that those posts are necessarily inappropriate. I am just not willing to dedicate a specific forum for this type of information at this time.

As to Ryan's suggestion that PN's ONE dealership sponsor is the reason for me not implementing that request, that is, of course, not at all the case. Same with his comment about limiting feedback to only positive. As stated above, members are certainly free to post dealer experiences in the General Nautique Discussion section.
