PN Maintenance Planned For March 11 - 12

PLANETNAUTIQUE is experiencing an issue that will require that the site be taken offline for some amount of time this evening and tonight.

Most functionality will be restored by tomorrow (Thursday, 3/12/2020) morning. I will wait until this evening to take the site offline for this maintenance.

The full backup I am taking is taking longer to complete than I expected. I still plan to start this maintenance tonight.

Here's what you can expect over the next couple of days as this maintenance is completed.

• The site will be back online early Friday morning (3/13/2020). <--- Updated to new time based on posts below.
• Mobile versions of the site (Tapatalk, the PN App, etc.) will not be immediately available, but will be back online soon.
• Pictures and other attachments will not be immediately available.
• Pictures and other attachments will be brought back online over the next 24 - 48 hours, in a rolling format, meaning certain pictures may be available while others are not. Most pictures and attachments will eventually be back online, hopefully within the 48-hour timeline.
• Certain attachments and pictures that users uploaded over the past week or so, and have been missing for several days now, may not be recoverable. This is due to the way my web host overwrote the directory housing our attachments without consulting me first.

I will keep this thread updated with the latest information.

This event will begin at 7:00 Eastern time tonight, Thursday, March 12, 2020. The site will be offline for several hours, and will be brought back in phases. See post #2 above for more information on what this will look like over the next couple of days.

The site was brought back online Friday afternoon. Most attachments and pictures should be visible. Those that are not will need to be resubmitted. Any missing attachments are the result of our web host overwriting our attachments directory earlier this week without consulting me first. I apologize for the small number of missing attachments. If this affects one of your posts, feel free to edit your original posts with missing attachments, and reattach the images.

Mobile versions of the site (specifically Tapatalk and the PN App) may not be immediately available, but will be back online within the next day or two.

You might want verify tapatalk is working. I can't get my mobile to connect. First I got the spinning ball then I did a logout / login. Won't login and I get a 'network error'. Works for other forums.

oops. Another possible issue. Seems like the board is limiting photo attachments to 2 mb. I seem to recall it being larger. (???)
