    iPod EA1276B & 6th Generation iPod Classics?

I've got a CMD4A head unit on a 2007 216 TE, and from what I can tell, the CMD4As need a EA1276B CeNET iPod connector.

Some websites claim that the 4th Generation iPod is supported for this adapter, along with iPod Mini & Nanos.

Does anyone know if the EA1276B will work with the newer 6th generation iPods (80 & 160GB units)?

If you haven't already bought the EA1276B, you might want to look into the Harman Kardon Drive & Play. The interface is 100x better, and is universal.

Hummm...for a Car, I can definitely see how this would be nicer than a standard radio.

Exactly how water proof is it? (yes, my bow has been dipped more than once)
Where do you put the display? The controller?
How did you run the wires? How do you mount stuff so they aren't in the way?

I'm assuming you've got the iPod to head unit via wire & not FM, correct? The LCD & Controller need wires too, right?...or can this be done wirelessly?

My 2007 216 TE came with a CMRC1 (w/ digital display) type controller on the driver's side which is what I was thinking about using to control the iPod with.

It also looks like Clarion has a CCA-IPOD type device, again quoting computability with 4th Generation iPods.

A quick price check on google looks like the price on the H&K Drive & Play is within $15-20 of what I can find the EA1276B or CCA-IPOD for. I'd at least consider the H&K D&P once I can figure out how to resolve the water proofing & installation issues.

The brain of the HK is basically like your PP module, so where ever you have the PP brain mounted that is where you should put the HK brain (pretty much anywhere under the dash to keep it dry).

I don't know (and doubt) if the screen display and remote are waterproof - they've been dripped on in my boat and still work, but I'm guessing a full on rain might do some damage if I don't let it fully dry out before I use it again. I mounted the remote right in front of my cupholder, and then the screen was put in the upper right of the dash (you can put them anywhere by either drilling holes and screwing it in, or by using the dual-sided 3M sticky tape (I used the tape)). See the pic below.

It is hardwired to the headunit in the boat, but they have a new setup called the Drive&Play 2 that is fully wireless, it's just expensive. The beauty of the Drive and Play 1 is that you can easily get one off of eBay for ~$30, and even though it is rather inexpensive, it is the best Ipod interface on the market IMO.

Here's the link for the HK:
