    Opinions please-Boss MR1500 Stereo

I need to replace the stereo in my '93 Sport Nautique. I was browsing eBay and found these for what looks like a decent price. It has aux input so I can connect my iPod. It will only be pushing 4 std 6.5" speakers. No tower, etc.. Just wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge of this unit. Not looking to entertain the whole lake, just the people in the boat. This is one of the links.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Anyone, anyone, Bueller. Am I being too cheap on this? Is it "good enough" for my purposes? Thanks.

Looks like a nice unit. However, I've not had good luck with non-marine specific stereos. The coated boards in the marine units keep them from corroding in the long term. I am going to run a used powered bazooka 8" sub I picked up for free. I guess an auto unit would work this time for me. My boat is now garaged as opposed to being covered outside as in the past. I just don't want to have to replace it again in a couple of seasons due to corrosion on the circuit boards like last time. Thanks for your response.

Just installed it in my 95 SN. Seems to do just fine, I like the control layout. It was very rough out yesterday and the CD stopped a couple times but not too bad considering we were getting pretty hammered by waves. It has some engine whine but I think it is not the Boss, probably the cheap RCAs I used.

Thanks for your response. I was hoping to hear that it was acceptable. Where did you buy yours? Like I said, I'm not trying to entertain the whole lake, just the people on the boat.

Mine came from www.audioallies.com, $130. They also have the best price for the Evid 6.2 speakers for the tower.
