Sub on a 2007 SV211

I am thinking about using the permanent cooler position for the sub. Has anyone else done this. I hate cutting into fiberlagass!!! If you have any pictures or anything let me know. Thanks

Why don't you do the jumpseat sub like I did?

I did four 6.5's but you could easily do a single 12". I am planning to do a wider seat to match the back or go all the way across. It would house two 10's.

Benjidoo I was able to put a JL13W3 without losing the use of my cooler. I am still not finished but here are a few pictures before fiberglass and a few pictures after fiberglass and grinding. The speaker is turned and tilted so the cooler will still go in and out as it was original intended. I will try to post more pictures when I finish. It is as big as possible without losing the ability to remove it. I also have the original drawings I did for the box but some of the dimensions were change during the actual construction process.

I have been pushing Wetsounds to produce a plastic sub enclosure similar in dimension to Zax. I understand there may be a prototype in the works but nothing yet. Most boats can accomodate a semi-trapeziodal shape in front of the driver or passenger. There are also those "eggs" on the Nautique-Polk demo boat but I think there is a decent market for something like Zax. Just out of curiosity, Zax, how many hours do you have into the box? When people realize that we spend over 40 hours on something that looks so simple, the idea of selling one for profit gets really interesting.

We recently put a system in a 211 where we installed a 10-inch subwoofer under the driver’s helm. The woofer can either face forward or to the side in a basic rectangular enclosure. We elevated the enclosure off the sole which was recessed. We also built a new façade to conceal the sub and facilitate the fuse panel. It looked factory, was totally stealth and was very simple. The cavity vents out over the top of the façade. So the output is unobstructed. The subwoofer sounded effortless.
