I searched old posts but could not find this information. I have a 2006 216 TE and would like to understand how the speaker and amps are configured. The boat has 6 Polk interior speakers, a Polk Momo sub under the observer seat and Defcon (or is it Deafcon?) 3's on the tower. Which amp powers which set of speakers and is there a way to keep all interior speakers on and just lower the tower speakers?

RE: Stereo Amp and Speaker Configuration 2006 216 TE
you should have two amps - one powers the 4 cabin speakers and the sub the other amp powers the tower speakers - you should be able to use the fader on the head unit to fade out the tower or the cabin 4 speakers - the two bow speakers are powered from the head unit - typically the larger amp (clarion 480 ) is powering the 4 cabin and the sub - the smaller amp (clarion 280) is powering the tower - depending on the connections you may fade out the bow along with the tower2006 SANTE 210 (Pending Sale)

RE: Stereo Amp and Speaker Configuration 2006 216 TE
good deal, you have 3 sets of rca outputs. one set is non fadeable (the rca's with purple wires). if you connect your cabin speaker amp to that set of rca's, then you will always have full power to them no matter what you do with the fade knob. now, you can hook up the tower speaker amp to the rear or front output rca's (front=gray wires/rear=black wires). you will now be able to fade the tower speakers in and out.
i'm not sure which channel the bow speakers are connected to. so, in order to have them fade directly or inversely with the tower speakers, you will have to check to see andthen hook the amp to the rca's that coincide with your decision
